About EKFAF

Educating Kids For A Future (EKFAF) is a Non-Profit making organization that was founded in 2011with the status of an Association or Non-Governmental Organization. However, it began  operating in 2013. It is legally recognized by the Cameroon government.Our authorization no. 58/E.291111/VOL.8/ALPAS.

a.    Objectives:

Our main objective is to assist orphans and underprivileged children in primary schools of Bui Division to ensure that they have access to basic education.

Our three specific objectives are;

Support education through provision of basic school needs to unprivileged.

Encourage Muslims girl child education through community awareness.

Support underprivileged parents with sustainable means to sponsor their children.

a.    Our Activities and Programs:

      Promoting and encouraging the education of the poor and vulnerable children by supporting them both financially and materially so as to meet up with their educational needs.

      Fostering or enhancing the education, caring and training of children especially the underprivileged and promoting their academic/professional/vocational training through special scholarships for intelligent/hardworking but needy children.

      Creating forums where youths educate/sensitize themselves for future employment, growth, developmental goals and the propose ideas for sustainable development.

      Fighting ignorant illiteracy there by reducing the incidence of early marriage of the girl child and child abuse.

      Providing career counselling through sensitization campaigns to assist children to make better choices in their educational preferences and career choices.

 

aPrevious Achievements:

      EKFAF is already effectively assisting to sponsor 5 orphans/less privileged children in some 5 schools in Bui Division since the 2013/2014 academic year.

      Since 2013, we have distributed shoes to more than 700 vulnerable pupils/children in the primary schools.

  

Problem to be Resolved:

In our target areas, over 35% of both the orphans and poor children do not have access to quality education while some do not even have access to education at all. This eventually leads to early marriages especially among Muslim girl teenagers, school dropouts and increased crime waves in the society just to name the few. We are deeply concerned by the deplorable situations these children find themselves in and we desire to bring change to their lives, but we are limited by financial and material resources. We thus, require funding. This provides the premise for this proposal in the quest to obtain assistance that will guarantee a future for our target groups.
